Windows game on a Mac
Lethal Company on a Mac: how to run the co-op horror
It launches. Co-op runs with friends are not checked yet.
Updated 7 October 2026 · Uncork 1.0.10
Lethal Company has no Mac version: its Steam page lists only Windows as of 7 October 2026. In Uncork it runs for free; on 6 October 2026, on a MacBook Pro 14″ with an M3 Pro, it reached the first set-up screen. We did not play further, did not measure the frame rate and did not test online play.
What the game is
Lethal Company is a co-op horror game. You work for the Company, fly to abandoned moons and haul scrap back, and there is a quota, and nobody jokes about it. Creatures roam the buildings. Voice chat works only at close range: if a teammate screams on the far side of a building, you simply do not hear them.
People look for it on a Mac because of friends, most of whom are on Windows. We have not tested online play in Uncork yet.
Does Lethal Company have a Mac version
We checked the Steam store (7 October 2026): the game lists only the Windows platform, with no macOS. On an Apple Silicon Mac it can only run through a compatibility layer, which is what Uncork does.
What we tested
There is one record, from 6 October 2026, on the reference machine: MacBook Pro 14″ (Mac15,6), Apple M3 Pro, 14-core GPU, 18 GB, macOS 26.
| What | Result |
|---|---|
| Launch | the game reaches the first set-up screen |
| Graphics | D3DMetal |
| Frame rate | not measured |
We stopped at the first screen, so we have nothing to say about the game itself: how it runs on a moon, how the voice chat works or what the frame rate is.
Which graphics path
The record names D3DMetal, the layer Uncork uses for DirectX 11 and 12 games. We recorded no game-specific setup for this title.
How to run it
- Download Uncork from the main page — you do not need to sign in on the site, and running games is free with no account.
- Install Uncork: the app builds a bottle with the Windows version of Steam inside.
- Sign in to Steam yourself and install the game like any other. Your password and Steam Guard code are entered only in Steam's own window.
- Press “Play” on the game's card.
We reached the first set-up screen; what happens after that on our hardware is not yet known.
What we did not test
- The game itself on a moon: frame rate, sound, stability.
- Online play and voice chat.
- Mods: our records say nothing about them.
- Any Mac other than the reference one.
